Perhaps the most important contributor to a badly performing computer is malware.
Stage 1. Revise the explanations of your anti virus and operate a full scan of your hard drive in Safe Mode. Resolve any unfixable issues. Note that some viruses require additional steps until they could be removed; usually a websearch will find specific directions or a special removal tool. Use the BC forums to obtain assistance, if you can’t find a solution.
Step 2. You’ve recently downloaded an application, and if the slowness is unexpected, the issue may reside there. Test this by totally removing it. A sensible user will typically perform a web search about the application before installing because in most instances, any possible issue with malware or poor performance will have appeared.

Stage 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it fix Socket Error 10005.
Step 7. Defragment your pc. Windows tends to set new files in any available open space; defragging will place related sections of files closer together so your read arm has less travelling around the hard drive to do, saving wear and tear while speeding up plans.
