Malware
Maybe the most important factor to a poorly performing computer is malware. Often this is related to downloading a software that contains spyware, by not having browser security settings large enough, by carelessly downloading P2P files, or by declining to install security areas in a timely manner.
Action 1. Update the explanations of your anti-virus and operate a full scan of your hard drive in Safe Mode. Solve any unfixable problems. Note that some infections need additional measures until they could be removed; typically a internet search will locate specific instructions or a special removal tool. Use the Bc forums to request assistance, if you cannot find a solution.
Step 2. If the slowness is unexpected, and you have recently saved an application, the issue may live there. Test this by completely removing it. A user will usually perform a internet search about the application before getting because in most cases, any possible issue with malware or poor performance will have surfaced.
Stage 3. Adware and Spyware can radically effect your computer’s functionality, and these are around the Internet.
Experienced customers will routinely run 2 or 3 of these applications, because each company has its own requirements for what constitutes spyware and will only search against their own set. (A record of very great, free antispyware programs is given by BC). Again, solve any open issues before continuing to the next phase.
Uncontrolled Applications
Stage 4. Evaluation applications that self-launching on startup. You pc may become a battleground for your interest. Many programs, for instance, install a quick-start feature that permits them to be opened instantly; other programs will contain an automatic update feature that requires them to be running in the background. Your launching Windows are slowed down by each of these and each requires a little bit of resources while your computer is running.
If, for example, you have Spybot Search and Destroy, you may use its startup tool that lists startups and allows you to turn off any you don’t want. If you’re uncertain about what may be safely removed, remember that BC maintains a quite comprehensive Startup Database that contains info about whether the item is required, elective, or unnecessary.
At-the same time, remember that those icons on your own Desktop also take a modest amount of boot time to put themselves.
Absence of Maintenance
Step 5. Delete unused programs and transfer old files to a CD. Unplayed games, lots of family pictures, zipped files which you have previously opened, applications you have not found in two years, software for that old printer you threw away last year—these are some types of files you can delete.
(Note for advanced users: some experts would include the additional maintenance step of cleaning up the Windows registry, and there are plenty of applications to help do this. For the most part, so this step is not included, you can do severe damage by creating registry modifications, registry care won’t make a critical difference, and unless you are very comfortable with Windows, and cautiously make backups of-the registry
Stage 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it fix Repair Demaged Vob File.
Action 7. Defragment your pc. Windows will put new files in any available open space; defragging will set affiliated sections of files closer together so your read arm has less travelling around the hard drive to do, saving wear and tear while racing up programs.
Hopefully, since you have have finished, you will find a marked improvement in computer functionality.
