Because many readers reveal their computer reacting slowly, I’m publishing a summary checklist of basic things you can do to solve the 0xc00d002bissue, and briefly discussing the three most common causes : malware, uncontrolled applications, and lack of care.
Perhaps the greatest contributor to a poorly performing computer is malware. Often this is associated with downloading a software that contains spyware, by not having browser security settings large enough, by carelessly downloading P2P files, or by failing to install security patches regularly.
Stage 1. Update the explanations of your antivirus and run a full scan of your hard disk drive in Safe Mode. Resolve any unfixable problems. Notice that some viruses require additional steps until they could be removed; normally a web search will locate specific instructions or a special removal tool. If you cannot find a solution, use the Bc forums to request support.
Step 2. If the sluggishness is unanticipated, and you have recently saved an application, the problem might live there. Test this by totally removing it. A user will usually perform a websearch about the application before downloading it because in most instances, any potential problem with malware or poor performance will have surfaced.
Step three. Adware and Spyware can drastically impact your computer’s performance, and these are all over the World wide web. A very recent study showed that one out of every 20 executable files on Web sites is spyware, and 1 in 25 domains comprise at least one bit of spyware waiting for victims.
Seasoned customers will routinely run 2 or 3 of the applications, because each business has its own criteria for what constitutes spyware and will just search against their own set. (A set of very good, free antispyware applications is given by BC). Again, solve any open issues before proceeding to the next step.
For further reading about Malicious software and some malware removal applications, use BC’s Tutorial section; most of the programs have quite great Help documents that explain how they operate too as the unique attributes of each.
Stage 4. Evaluation programs that self-start on startup. You computer may be a battleground for your consideration. Many programs, for instance, install a fast-start feature which enables them to be exposed instantly; other programs may contain an automated update feature that demands them to be running in the background. Your launching Windows are slowed down by each of these and each requires a small bit of assets while your computer is running.
In case you are unsure about what can be safely removed, remember that BC maintains a very complete Startup Database that includes information about whether the inquired item is needed, elective, or unnecessary.
At the same time, remember that those symbols on your own Desktop also take a small number of trunk time to put themselves.
Absence of Care
Step 5. Cleanup your hard drive (preparation for Action 7). Delete unused applications and move old files into a CD. Unplayed games, lots of family images, zipped files which you have previously opened, applications you have not used in two years, software for the old printer you threw away last year—these are a few examples of files you can delete. Then use Window’s Disk Clean-up to delete temporary internet files, temporary PC health files, etc.
(Note for sophisticated users: some specialists would include the added maintenance step of cleaning up the Windows registry, and there are several applications to help do that. For the most part, so this step is not contained, you can do significant damage by making registry modifications, registry care won’t make a major difference, and unless you’re very comfy with Windows, and cautiously make copies of-the registry
Stage 6. Have it repair 0xc00d002b.
Action 7. Defragment your computer. Windows tends to set new files in any available open space; defragging will set associated segments of files closer together so your read arm has less travelling around the hdd to do, saving wear and tear while racing up programs.
Hopefully, since you have have ended, you will see a noticeable improvement in computer performance.
