Maybe the most important factor to a poorly performing computer is malware.
Step 1. Update the explanations of your anti virus and run a full scan of your hard drive in Safe Mode. Resolve any unfixable problems. Notice that some viruses require extra measures until they can be removed; typically a web search will find specific directions or a special removal tool. If you cannot find a solution, use the Bc forums to obtain assistance.
Step 2. You’ve recently downloaded an application, and if the slowness is abrupt, the problem may live there. Test this by entirely removing it. A user will typically perform a websearch about the program before downloading it because in most instances, any potential issue with malware or poor performance will have appeared.
Stage 3. Adware and Spyware can dramatically impact your personal computer’s operation, and these are throughout the Net. A very recent research indicated that one out of every 20 executable files on Websites is spyware, and 1 in 25 domains contain at least one piece of spyware waiting for victims.
Seasoned customers will consistently run 2 or 3 of these programs, because each business has its own requirements for what constitutes spyware and will just search against their own established. Stage 4. Evaluation apps that self-start on startup. You pc may be a battleground for your attention. Remember that BC maintains a quite complete Startup Database that includes info about whether the questioned item is required, optional, or not needed, if you are unsure about what could be safely deleted.
At the same time, remember that those icons on your Desktop also take a modest amount of boot time to set themselves.
Absence of Maintenance
Step 5. Cleanup your hard drive (preparation for Step 7). Delete unused programs and exchange old files into a CD. Unplayed games, lots of family images, zipped files that you have opened, applications you have not found in two years, software for that old printer you threw away last year—these are some types of files you can delete. Then use Window’s Disk Cleanup to remove temporary internet files, temporary PC health files, etc.
(Note for sophisticated users: some specialists would include the added maintenance step of cleaning up the Windows registry, and there are plenty of applications to assist do that. For the most part, so this measure is not contained, you can do significant harm by making registry modifications, registry maintenance won’t make a vital difference, and unless you’re quite comfortable with Windows, and cautiously make backups of-the registry
Action 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it repair 0xc000009a.
Step 7. Defragment your personal computer. Windows tends to put new files in any available open space; defragging will place associated segments of files closer together therefore your read arm has less travelling around the hdd to do, saving wear-and tear while boosting up programs.
Hopefully, now that you have have ended, you’ll see a marked enhancement in pc performance.
