I am submitting a summary checklist of basic things you can do to solve this issue, and briefly discussing the three most common causes : malware, uncontrolled applications, and insufficient maintenance, because many readers reveal their computer responding slowly.
Maybe the most important factor to a poorly performing computer is malware. Often this is associated with downloading an application that contains spyware, by not having browser security settings large enough, by carelessly downloading P2P files, or by failing to install security patches in a timely manner.
Stage 1. Update the definitions of your antivirus and operate a full scan of your hard disk in Safe Mode. Resolve any unfixable problems. Notice that some infections need extra steps until they can be removed; ordinarily a web search will find specific directions or a particular removal tool. Use the Bc forums to obtain assistance, if you can’t find a solution.
2. If the slowness is surprising, and you’ve recently downloaded an application, the problem might rest there. Check this by totally removing it. A user will usually perform a websearch about the program before installing because in most instances, any possible issue with malware or poor performance will have surfaced.
