Stage 1. Update the explanations of your anti-virus and operate a complete scan of your drive in Safe Mode. Solve any unfixable problems. Notice that some infections need additional measures before they can be removed; normally a web search will locate specific directions or a special removal tool. Use the Bc forums to obtain help, if you can’t find a solution.
Step 2. If the slowness is unanticipated, and you have recently saved an application, the issue may dwell there. Check this by completely eliminating it. A user will typically perform a web search about the application before downloading it because in most cases, any possible issue with malware or inferior performance will have appeared.
Step three. Adware and Spyware can radically impact your computer’s operation, and these are all over the Web. A very recent research showed that one out of every 20 executable files on Websites is spyware, and 1 in 25 domains comprise at least one bit of spyware waiting for victims.
Experienced customers will frequently run several of these programs, because each company has its own requirements for what constitutes spyware and will just search against their own set. For additional reading about Malicious software and some malware removal applications, use BC’s Tutorial section; most of the programs have quite good Help files that clarify how they work too as the distinctive characteristics of each.
Stage 4. Review programs that self-launch on startup. You pc may be a arena for your attention. Many programs, for example, install a fast-launch feature which enables them to be opened promptly; other programs will contain an automated update feature that demands them to be working in the background. Your launching Windows are slowed down by each of these and each requires a small bit of sources while your computer is running.
You can use its startup tool that lists startups and lets you to turn off any you don’t want, if, for example, you have Spybot Search and Destroy. If you’re uncertain about what may be safely removed, remember that Bc maintains a very comprehensive Startup Database that includes information about whether the item is required, elective, or unnecessary.
At-the same time, remember that those icons in your Background also take a small number of trunk time to set themselves.
Lack of Upkeep
Stage 5. Clean-up your hard drive (preparation for Action 7). Delete unused applications and move old files to your CD. Unplayed games, tons of family pictures, zipped files which you have previously opened, applications you haven’t used in two years, software for that old printer you threw away last year—these are a few types of files you can delete. Then use Window’s Disk Cleanup to delete temporary internet files, temporary PC health files, etc.
(Note for high level users: some experts would contain the added upkeep stage of cleaning up the Windows registry, and you’ll find several apps to help do this. For the most part, registry maintenance will not make a critical difference, and unless you’re very comfortable with Windows, and cautiously make copies of the registry, you can do significant damage by creating registry changes, so this step is not contained
Action 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it mend 0x00000001 0x00000002.
Step 7. Defragment your pc. Windows will set new documents in any available open space; defragging will place associated segments of files closer together therefore your read arm has less going around the hard drive to do, saving wear and tear while boosting up programs.
Hopefully, now that you have have ended, you’ll find a marked enhancement in pc functionality.
