Malware
Maybe the most important factor to a poorly performing computer is malware. Usually this is associated with downloading a software that includes spyware, by not having browser security settings large enough, by carelessly downloading P2P files, or by failing to install security patches in a timely manner.
Action 1. Revise the definitions of your anti-virus and run a complete scan of your hard drive in Safe Mode. Solve any unfixable problems. Note that some infections require extra steps until they can be removed; usually a websearch will find specific instructions or a special removal tool. If you can’t find a solution, use the BC forums to obtain help.
2. If the sluggishness is abrupt, and you have recently saved an application, the problem may live there. Check this by totally removing it. A user will usually perform a web search about the program before getting because in most cases, any potential difficulty with malware or poor performance will have surfaced.
Step three. Adware and Spyware can radically effect your computer’s operation, and these are all over the World wide web.
Experienced users will consistently operate several of these programs, because each company has its own standards for what constitutes spyware and will just search against their own set. (Note for advanced level users: some specialists would include the additional care step of cleaning the Windows registry, and you’ll find plenty of programs to assist do this. For the most part, so this measure isn’t contained, you can do severe damage by creating registry modifications, registry care will not make a major difference, and unless you’re very comfy with Windows, and cautiously make backups of-the registry
Action 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it mend Kb928202.
Action 7. Defragment your computer.
