Possibly the greatest factor to a badly performing computer is malware. Generally this is associated with downloading a software that contains spyware, by not having browser security settings high enough, by carelessly downloading P2P files, or by failing to install security areas in a timely manner.
Step 1. Revise the explanations of your anti-virus and run a full scan of your hard disk drive in Safe Mode. Solve any unfixable issues. Note that some viruses require additional steps before they may be removed; generally a web search will locate specific instructions or a particular removal tool. Use the BC forums to request help, if you cannot find a solution.
Step 2. If the slowness is sudden, and you have recently saved an application, the issue might rest there. Test this by entirely eliminating it. A smart user will usually perform a websearch about the application before installing because in most instances, any possible issue with malware or poor performance will have surfaced.
Action three. Adware and Spyware can dramatically impact your computer’s operation, and these are all over the Internet.
Update the definitions of your anti spyware programs and check your hard drives in Safe Mode. Experienced customers will regularly run 2 or 3 of the applications, because each business has its own criteria for what constitutes spyware and will simply search against their own established. (A record of quite good, free antispyware applications is given by BC). Again, solve any open issues before continuing to the next phase.
For additional reading about Malware and some malware removal applications, use BC’s Tutorial section; most of the applications have really good Help documents that describe how they work too as the unique characteristics of each.
Step 4. Review programs that self-launch on startup. You computer may be a arena for your attention. Many programs, for instance, install a quick-start feature which allows them to be exposed quickly; other programs may comprise an automatic update feature that demands them to be running in the background. Your launching Windows are slowed down by each of these and each requires a little bit of resources while your computer is running.
You can use its startup tool that lists startups and allows you to show off any you usually do not need, if, like, you have Spybot Search and Destroy. In case you are uncertain about what may be safely deleted, remember that BC maintains a quite complete Startup Database that contains information about whether the item is needed, optional, or not needed.
At the same time, remember that those icons on your Desktop also take a small amount of boot time to put themselves.

Step 5. Delete unused applications and transfer old files to a CD. Then use Window’s Disk Clean-up to delete temporary internet files, temporary PC health files, etc.
(Note for higher level users: some experts would contain the additional maintenance step of cleaning up the Windows registry, and you will find several programs to assist try this. For the most part, registry maintenance won’t make a major difference, and unless you’re very comfortable with Windows, and carefully make backups of the registry, you can do serious harm by creating registry changes, so this step isn’t contained
Stage 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it fix Gameguard Error 114 Win Xp.
Action 7. Defragment your pc. Windows tends to put new documents in any available open space; defragging will place affiliated segments of files closer together so your read arm has less travelling around the hard drive to do, saving wear-and tear while racing up programs.
Hopefully, now that you have have concluded, you’ll find a noticeable enhancement in pc performance.
