Because many readers write about their computer responding slowly, I am submitting a summary listing of basic things you can do to solve the Download Winscard.hproblem, and briefly discussing the three most frequent causes : malware, uncontrolled applications, and lack of care.
Perhaps the greatest contributor to a badly performing computer is malware. Often this is related to downloading a software that includes spyware, by not having browser security options large enough, by carelessly downloading P2P files, or by declining to install security areas in a timely manner.
Stage 1. Revise the definitions of your anti-virus and run a complete scan of your hard drive in Safe Mode. Resolve any unfixable problems. Notice that some infections need extra measures until they may be removed; generally a web search will find specific instructions or a particular removal tool. If you cannot find a solution, use the BC forums to request support.
Step 2. If the slowness is unexpected, and you’ve recently downloaded an application, the issue may dwell there. Test this by completely removing it. A user will usually perform a web search about the program before installing because in most cases, any potential problem with malware or poor performance will have appeared.
Step 3. Adware and Spyware can dramatically impact your personal computer’s performance, and these are throughout the Net. A very recent research indicated that one out-of every 20 executable files on Websites is spyware, and 1 in 25 domains include at least one bit of spyware waiting for victims.
Revise the definitions of your anti-spyware programs and scan your hard drives in Safe Mode. Seasoned users will consistently run 2 or 3 of the programs, because each business has its own criteria for what constitutes spyware and will only search against their own set. (A list of really good, free anti spyware programs is given by BC). Again, solve any open issues before proceeding to the next step.
For further reading about Malware and some malware removal applications, use BC’s Tutorial section; most of the applications have very great Help files that explain how they work as well as the distinctive characteristics of each.
Step 4. Review programs that self-start on startup. You pc can become a arena for your interest. Many programs, for instance, install a fast-start feature which enables them to be opened promptly; other programs may comprise an automatic update feature that demands them to be working in the background. Your launching Windows are slowed down by each of these and each requires a little bit of sources while your computer is running.
The simplest approach to examine and than to manage start ups would be to use one of many little utilities available (see the Bc list of free programs). If, for example, you have Spybot Search and Destroy, you can use its startup tool that lists startups and allows you to turn off any you do not want. In case you are unsure about what may be safely deleted, remember that BC maintains a quite comprehensive Startup Database that contains info about whether the inquired item is needed, discretionary, or not needed.
At-the same time, remember that those icons on your Desktop also take a small amount of trunk time to place themselves.
Lack of Maintenance
Stage 5. Clean up your hard drive (preparation for Action 7). Delete unused programs and transfer old files into a CD. Unplayed games, lots of family pictures, zipped files that you have already opened, applications you haven’t used in two years, software for that old printer you put away last year—these are some examples of files you can delete. Then use Window’s Disk Clean-up to delete temporary internet files, temporary PC health files, etc.
(Note for advanced level users: some professionals would comprise the additional maintenance step of cleaning up the Windows registry, and you’ll find several applications to help do that. For the most part, registry maintenance will not make a major difference, and unless you are very comfortable with Windows, and cautiously make backups of the registry, you can do significant damage by making registry changes, so this measure is not contained
Stage 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it fix Download Winscard.h.
Step 7. Defragment your computer.
Hopefully, since you have have ended, you’ll find a noticeable improvement in computer operation.
