Because several readers come up with their computer reacting slowly, I am publishing a summary listing of basic steps you can take to resolve the Dotnetproblem, and briefly discussing the three most common causes : malware, uncontrolled applications, and insufficient care.
Maybe the greatest factor to a badly performing computer is malware. Generally this is associated with downloading a software that contains spyware, by not having browser security settings large enough, by carelessly downloading P2P files, or by failing to install security patches regularly.
Step 1. Revise the definitions of your antivirus and operate a complete scan of your hard disk in Safe Mode. Solve any unfixable problems. Notice that some infections need additional steps before they could be removed; normally a websearch will find specific directions or a particular removal tool. Use the BC forums to obtain support, if you fail to find a answer.
Step 2. If the slowness is unexpected, and you have recently downloaded an application, the problem might dwell there. Check this by entirely eliminating it. A user will generally perform a web search about the program before installing because in most cases, any potential problem with malware or inferior performance will have surfaced.
Step three. Adware and Spyware can dramatically impact your personal computer’s performance, and these are throughout the Web. A very recent study indicated that one out of every 20 executable files on Web sites is spyware, and 1 in 25 domains comprise at least one piece of spyware waiting for sufferers.
Update the explanations of your anti spyware applications and check your hard drives in Safe Mode. Remember that BC maintains a very complete Startup Database that contains information about whether the item is needed, discretionary, or not needed, in case you are uncertain about what could be safely removed.
At the same time, remember that those symbols on your Desktop also take a small amount of boot time to place themselves.
Lack of Upkeep
Step 5. Delete unused applications and transfer old files into a CD. Unplayed games, lots of family pictures, zipped files that you have previously opened, applications you have not found in two years, software for that old printer you put away last year—these are some examples of files you can delete.
(Note for advanced users: some experts would contain the additional maintenance step of cleaning the Windows registry, and you will find several programs to help try this. For the most part, so this measure isn’t contained, you may do serious harm by creating registry modifications, registry maintenance won’t make a significant difference, and unless you’re quite comfortable with Windows, and cautiously make copies of-the registry

Stage 7. Defragment your personal computer. Windows will set new documents in any available open space; defragging will place related segments of files closer together therefore your read arm has less travelling around the hard drive to do, saving wear-and tear while speeding up applications.
