Malware
Perhaps the greatest contributor to a poorly performing computer is malware. Usually this is associated with downloading an application that contains spyware, by not having browser security settings high enough, by carelessly downloading P2P files, or by declining to install security sections in a timely manner.
Step 1. Revise the definitions of your anti virus and run a complete scan of your hard disk drive in Safe Mode. Resolve any unfixable problems. Note that some viruses need extra measures until they may be removed; usually a websearch will find specific directions or a particular removal tool. Use the Bc forums to obtain help, if you fail to find a solution.
2. If the slowness is surprising, and you’ve recently downloaded an application, the issue may live there. Test this by completely removing it. A wise user will typically perform a web search about the program before installing because in most instances, any potential difficulty with malware or inferior performance will have appeared.
Step three. Adware and Spyware can drastically effect your computer’s performance, and these are throughout the Internet.
Update the explanations of your anti-spyware applications and scan your hard drives in Safe Mode. Seasoned users will frequently run 2 or 3 of the applications, because each business has its own requirements for what constitutes spyware and will simply search against their own set. (A set of very good, free anti-spyware applications is supplied by BC). Again, resolve any open issues before continuing to the next step.

Uncontrolled Applications
Stage 4. Evaluation programs that self-launch on startup. You computer can be a battleground for your attention. Many programs, for example, install a quick-start feature that allows them to be opened immediately; other programs will comprise an automated update feature that demands them to be running in the background. Each of these slows down your debut Windows and each requires a small bit of assets while your personal computer is running.
Remember that Bc maintains a very comprehensive Startup Database that contains information about whether the item is needed, optional, or unnecessary, in case you are uncertain about what may be safely removed.
At the same time, remember that all those icons in your Background also take a modest number of boot time to place themselves.
Lack of Care
Stage 5. Clean up your hard drive (preparation for Step 7). Delete unused applications and exchange old files to your CD. Unplayed games, lots of family pictures, zipped files which you have previously opened, applications you have not found in two years, software for that old printer you threw away last year—these are a few examples of files you can delete. Then use Window’s Disk Cleanup to remove temporary internet files, temporary PC health files, etc.
(Note for high level users: some experts would comprise the added maintenance stage of cleaning the Windows registry, and you’ll find plenty of apps to assist do that. For the most part, registry maintenance will not make a critical difference, and unless you are really comfy with Windows, and carefully make copies of the registry, you can do significant harm by making registry changes, so this measure is not included
Action 6. Have it fix Createfilemapping Error Codes.
Step 7. Defragment your personal computer. Windows tends to put new files in any available open space; defragging will set affiliated sections of files closer together so your read arm has less travelling around the hard drive to do, saving wear-and tear while boosting up applications.
