Perhaps the greatest factor to a poorly performing computer is malware.
Step 1. Update the explanations of your antivirus and operate a complete scan of your hard drive in Safe Mode. Resolve any unfixable problems. Note that some viruses require extra steps until they may be removed; typically a websearch will locate specific directions or a special removal tool. If you cannot find a solution, use the BC forums to request help.
Step Two. You have recently downloaded an application, and if the sluggishness is unanticipated, the problem may dwell there. Test this by fully eliminating it. A smart user will usually perform a web search about the application before getting because in most instances, any possible problem with malware or poor performance will have appeared.
Step 3. Adware and Spyware can dramatically impact your computer’s operation, and these are throughout the Web. A very recent study indicated that one out-of every 20 executable files on Websites is spyware, and 1 in 25 domains comprise at least one bit of spyware waiting for sufferers.
Update the explanations of your anti spyware programs and scan your hard drives in Safe Mode. Seasoned users will frequently operate several of the applications, because each business has its own criteria for what constitutes spyware and will simply search against their own established. Many programs, for example, install a rapid-start feature that allows them to be opened immediately; other programs may contain an automated update feature that requires them to be running in the background. Your launching Windows are slowed down by each of these and each needs a small bit of resources while your personal computer is running.
The simplest way to examine and than to manage startups is to-use one of the many little resources available (see the Bc list of free programs). You may use its startup tool that lists startups and lets you to turn off any you don’t need, if, like, you have Spybot Search and Destroy. In case you are unsure about what may be safely removed, remember that BC maintains a quite comprehensive Startup Database that contains information about whether the item is required, elective, or unnecessary.
At-the same time, remember that all those icons on your Background also take a modest amount of boot time to place themselves.
Absence of Maintenance
Stage 5. Delete unused programs and exchange old files to a CD. Unplayed games, tons of family images, zipped files that you have previously opened, applications you have not used in two years, software for the old printer you threw away last year—these are some examples of files you can delete. Then use Window’s Disk Clean-up to remove temporary internet files, temporary PC health files, etc.
(Note for advanced level users: some specialists would comprise the added care step of cleaning the Windows registry, and there are several apps to help do this. For the most part, registry care won’t make a significant difference, and unless you are quite comfortable with Windows, and carefully make backups of the registry, you may do serious damage by making registry changes, so this measure isn’t included
Action 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it mend 0xc00000bbwindows7.
Action 7. Defragment your personal computer. Windows tends to set new documents in any available open space; defragging will place associated segments of files closer together therefore your read arm has less going around the hard drive to do, saving wear and tear while racing up programs.
