Malware
Possibly the most important factor to a badly performing computer is malware.
Step 1. Revise the definitions of your antivirus and run a full scan of your hard drive in Safe Mode. Resolve any unfixable issues. Notice that some viruses require additional steps until they may be removed; normally a web search will locate specific directions or a special removal tool. Use the Bc forums to request help, if you cannot find a solution.
2. If the slowness is unexpected, and you’ve recently saved an application, the problem may reside there. Test this by entirely removing it. A smart user will normally perform a web search about the application before installing because in most cases, any potential issue with malware or poor performance will have surfaced.
Stage 3. Adware and Spyware can radically impact your personal computer’s operation, and these are all over the Internet.
Seasoned customers will frequently operate several of these programs, because each company has its own standards for what constitutes spyware and will only search against their own established. (A listing of quite great, free anti spyware applications is given by BC). Again, solve any open issues before proceeding to the next phase.
Uncontrolled Applications
Step 4. Evaluation programs that self-start on startup. You computer may be a battleground for your consideration. Many programs, for example, install a rapid-launch feature which enables them to be exposed immediately; other programs may comprise an automated update feature that requires them to be working in the background. Each of these decreases your launching Windows and each needs a small bit of assets while your computer is running.
Remember that Bc maintains a quite comprehensive Startup Database that contains info about whether the item is needed, discretionary, or unnecessary, in case you are unsure about what could be safely removed.
At the same time, remember that all those symbols in your Background also take a small number of boot time to set themselves.
Lack of Care
Stage 5. Delete unused applications and transfer old files to your CD. Unplayed games, lots of family pictures, zipped files that you have opened, applications you have not found in two years, software for the old printer you threw away last year—these are a few types of files you can delete.
(Note for advanced users: some specialists would include the added care step of cleaning up the Windows registry, and there are plenty of programs to help do this. For the most part, so this step is not included, you can do severe damage by creating registry changes, registry maintenance won’t make a significant difference, and unless you’re quite comfortable with Windows, and cautiously make copies of-the registry
Stage 6. Run scandisk / checkdisk in Safe Mode. Have it fix 0x1a36.
Step 7. Defragment your computer.
Hopefully, since you have have concluded, you will see a marked improvement in pc functionality.
