Malware
Perhaps the most important factor to a badly performing computer is malware.
Step 1. Update the explanations of your anti virus and run a full scan of your hard disk in Safe Mode. Solve any unfixable issues. Note that some infections require extra steps before they could be removed; usually a web search will locate specific directions or a particular removal tool. Use the Bc forums to request help, if you fail to find a solution.
Step 2. You have recently saved an application, and if the sluggishness is abrupt, the problem may rest there. Test this by fully removing it. A smart user will usually perform a websearch about the program before downloading it because in most cases, any possible problem with malware or poor performance will have appeared.
Step 3. Adware and Spyware can radically impact your personal computer’s functionality, and these are all over the Net.
Experienced users will frequently operate several of these programs, because each business has its own criteria for what constitutes spyware and will simply search against their own set. (A record of really great, free antispyware programs is supplied by BC). Again, resolve any open issues before continuing to the next phase.

Uncontrolled Applications
Step 4. Evaluation apps that self-start on startup. You computer can become a battleground for your consideration. Many programs, for instance, install a fast-start feature that allows them to be opened rapidly; other programs may comprise an automated update feature that requires them to be working in the background. Your launching Windows are slowed down by each of these and each requires a small bit of sources while your computer is running.
The easiest method to examine and than to handle startups is to-use one of the numerous little utilities available (see the Bc list of free applications). If you’re uncertain about what may be safely deleted, remember that BC maintains a very complete Startup Database that includes information about whether the item is needed, optional, or unnecessary.
At the same time, remember that all those icons on your Background also take a modest amount of trunk time to set themselves.
Lack of Maintenance
Stage 5. Delete unused applications and move old files into a CD. Unplayed games, lots of family pictures, zipped files which you have opened, applications you have not used in two years, software for that old printer you threw away last year—these are a few examples of files you can delete. Then use Window’s Disk Cleanup to remove temporary internet files, temporary PC health files, etc.
(Note for advanced users: some professionals would comprise the additional upkeep step of cleaning the Windows registry, and you’ll find several applications to help try this. For the most part, so this step isn’t contained, you may do serious damage by making registry changes, registry maintenance will not make a significant difference, and unless you’re really comfortable with Windows, and cautiously make backups of-the registry
Stage 6. Have it mend 0x00001437.
Action 7. Defragment your personal computer.
